Sunday the 30th November saw a good turn out for the 2008 South East Branch flock open day and AGM. Members visited the Isle of Wight to view the 2008 Champion Flock, Matt Legge's Duxmore Suffolks.

The cold and wet morning led to the sheep being shown under cover with members having the chance to see stock of different blood lines with produce from AI and the flock's own stock rams on show.

The flock also picked up the prize for the best new flock, having only been established in 2005, and were joint winners of the ewe lamb prize with Mr. Kniestedt's Bushleigh flock.

Amongst the other prize winners were Tom Daborn, winning the prize for the best stock ram with Shipreed Champion, and Diana Lindon who won the best Flock ewes prize and also picked up the reserve championship.

The open day was followed by the AGM, lunch and prize giving in the warmth of a local bar & restaurant at Matt's father's equestrian centre.
